Candy Day
Lions and volunteers will be visible throughout the community on 2nd weekend of October for Candy Day! Lions will be giving away rolls of candy and accepting monetary contributions to be used in helping people with vision and hearing needs throughout Illinois.
Diabetes Awareness
From March 1st to May 31st Lions will be out in communities all over Illinois passing out what we call “Risk Strips”. These paper slips list warning signs of diabetes and referral information for questions about diabetes.
Annual Charity Golf Classic
The Lions of Illinois Foundation hosts an annual Golf Classic 4-person Scramble on the first Saturday in August annually.
A Knight’s Quest Gala
The Lions of Illinois Foundation “A Knight’s Quest Gala presents: Ready. Set. Vegas!” was a huge success.
LIF “Cards for Camp” Campaign
Be prepared this year to purchase gift cards from hundreds of participating retailers! LIF gift cards are easy to use. With each purchase you make, LIF receives a donation provided by the retailers to use towards programs and services.
Roar-In’ Charity Car Show
The annual Car Show supports Adult Low Vision-Orientation & Mobility. Partnering with several partners, the Foundation provides Orientation & Mobility training to individuals who have recently lost or are losing their sight.
Sight & Sound Sweepstakes
The Lions’ Sight & Sound Sweepstakes, a cash raffle with a first prize of $5,000 and total prize money of $23,050. The money raised will be used locally or statewide to help those with visual and hearing needs through programs such as Camp Lions for children/adults and free vision/hearing screenings.
